My “Healthy Lifestyle” Journey!
My story is NOT glamorous and is not one of overnight success BUT I have worked hard to get to where I am, and I am happier and such a better mother, friend and wife for it! What I have learned has changed me in ways I could never have imagined. I have learned to set smaller goals and win battles along the way ~ and not just with my weightloss journey, but with life in general. Having more energy, less aches & pains is everything!
I am on a journey to be the healthiest ME I can be and I love sharing what I have learned along the way.
Bringing others along to join me is just icing on the cake! I am so proud of the weight I’ve lost and am determined to keep going! And I know that no matter what happens, I WILL reach my goals because my plan is to show up every day and do what needs to be done. 30lbs down…20-ish left to go! I GOT THIS!
Charlani VS Food
I am a recovering fast food addict, chocoholic, pizza lover, candy connoisseur and cupcake queen. I LOVE baked goods and there isn’t a piece of bread I don’t like.
Nutrition has always been an issue for me and something I still struggle with at times, especially if I don’t set my intention every single day and create a game plan.
I grew up eating what were our “staple” foods of white rice, meat cooked in butter and oil (usually dipped in batter first) and salt – the saltier, the better. I used to drink almost a 12 pack of diet coke and NO WATER (oh the horrors!) every day between the age of 15 and 38. I know, I know…terrible. I stopped drinking soda and coffee COLD TURKEY – worst week ever! – but so worth it! Haven’t had a drop since Living a “clean eating” lifestyle, in the beginning especially, was a struggle BUT now is something I embrace. Does it take time? Yes. Does it get easier? Yes. Is it worth it…abso-freaking-lutely!
I have tried just about every single program out there. I’ve done Weight Watchers, I’ve tried diet pills, even tried that stuff you sprinkle on your food to “make it disappear” (what was I thinking!?!?). I drank Slim Fast and I’ve also eaten only Lean Cuisine meals. NONE of this worked for me long term. As most things do, they work for the first week or two, but eventually you end up gaining that weight back and in most cases even more.
When I think of all that I have done to my body over the past decade, I cringe!
BUT it also makes me love myself all the more and am so thankful that this amazing body, although not perfect and still finding its way, has been able to bounce back time and again!
We are truly amazing beings and our physical bodies are absolute miracles!
I started my journey at the end of 2014 and haven’t looked back since! I became a Beachbody coach because not only does sharing my journey keep me accountable, I LOVE helping others reach their goals as well.
I have fallen in LOVE with the process of hosting challenge groups and running our awesomely amazing Health & Fitness Community.
I also love to help coaches on my team live healthy and fulfilling lives by being the best they can be and helping others along the way as well. When you take this journey with others who have similar goals and dreams, you have daily support and accountability ~ and long-lasting, lifetime friendships!
